Mary Matha Matriculation Higher Secondary School was founded in the year 1998 by St. Joseph Province, Kottayam of Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) and is owned by the Mary Matha Educational & Charitable Society. The CMI congregation, the first of its kind to originate from Indian soil, is a religious community of Catholic Priests committed to the ideals lived and preached by Jesus Christ. The CMI vision of education is “The formation of individuals into social persons fully human and fully alive”. The CMI Congregation, right from its inception on 1831, took up education as a special mission, following the ‘charisma’ of its founder, Saint Kuriakose Elias Chavara (1805-1871)
